River Days

We have had an incredible weekend of beautiful weather and local activities. River Days is a local festival celebrating the Ohio River, our town of Mt. Vernon, and our people past and present. Our sixth grade students took a field trip to the celebration on Friday, September the 13th. We participated in the opening ceremonies, viewed historical demonstrations, sampled many different foods, and listened to stories about the Ohio and our town.

Looking at the photos of the trip it looks like you had a beautiful day! Students (and adults) really do learn so much more by experiencing it; field trips can be so effective!
Thanks for sharing!
